hopes set to medium-high x

Yeah I was thinking about the time when we met online, all those Screwgazer Tapes mixes lost forever (and when my laptop got stolen)
maiovvi.bsky.social
Sometimes I check facebook and I look at my memories page and most of the time it's just a dead link to a mixtape I did for some publication, and I'm thinking: isn't there some kind of obligation they should have to host that file forever? I mean I was making content to drive traffic to their site..

Here comes an inappropriately name breakcore project I guess...

It was like Sorcerer, but worse.

My mum called me yesterday (I don't live in the UK anymore) asking me to diagnose what was going on with the WiFi. Through whatsapp. Neither of us knew where the modem was. It was a rollercoaster let me tell you!

'Sheer Hellish Miasma' is a masterpiece and when I saw Kevin Drumm I thought my face was going to vibrate off and then just be on the floor forever.
boomkat.com
Kevin Drumm’s definitive dose of sweltering microtonal heck, 2002, a hard reference point 20+ years later. It's masterfully disciplined, visionary music with effects analogous to Roland Kayn’s head-mangling wormholes x Merzbow’s masticated polychromatics

This isn't me getting at anyone, but I've noticed this thing by singers and I'm wondering where it comes from. It's a move where the singer turns their back to the audience and does a little dramatic dance. The singers of the last THREE young/new bands I've seen IN A ROW have all done this. Why?

"with "'Fans'" like these..." etc

yesterday I followed up with someone who WROTE TO ME about a show only to have them tell me to cold call a list of clubs. When I suggested that this has never worked for me they told me to "get over myself & put myself out there" given that I already do that. I'm fielding options for what to do next

Endless love for the support WPKN and Rod has given these last few albums, you can listen to this track (and more!) over at my bandcamp: yegods.bandcamp.com

This is exactly how I felt, luckily I had a VHS backup. I threw the DVD out. Complete desecration of a masterpiece.

no one suggested anything so I wasted the last hour trying to find a way to watch the director's cut of Clive Barker's Lord Of Illusions with zero luck. If you wanted to know how the brain fog is coming.

Now when I say I'm down with the sickness, I mean I am lying in bed sick. Send thoughts and prayers and movie recommendations.

Btw has there been a pornographic movie called "Thots & Playaz"? if not, why not? Why do I have to do all the creative work these days? make some effort pornographers jeez

Getting together and trying to work hard to "make it" is overrated compared to embracing chaos and throwing away notions of success (you met me in this phase)
maiovvi.bsky.social
Basically I didn’t realise you could just make whatever you wanted until I was 20. But also I was 20, had no mentors and was living in Whitchurch on the outskirts of Bristol and working in a corner shop.

Id say 17-19 were my “i like noise now” imperial phase. But i was still playing in somewhat normal bands until I was 18. I stopped making music almost entirely between 18-20. Also i was interacting with this music via radio and record shops so i still thought it was something unattainable for a job.

We will get to this when we arrive at the “re-emerging old forms” module

19-21. I was definitely around their age.

I did play them hamburger lady yes. And some early EBM and a little bit of Belgian New beat which I consider probably more associated with the post EBM sound then the emerging techno stuff
maiovvi.bsky.social
Anyway the hip hop kids did like the Coil track I played them so I guess there's some hope (honestly the hip hop kids are the most open minded I've found)

It kind of reminds me of that band The Rasmus, who looked like Marilyn Manson but sounded like Britney Spears.
