My editing queue is nearing about 20 slugs, it can only mean one thing: Emmys are upon us.
I'd like to commend the agent/rep for Fontaines D.C. for managing to get "Starburster" in multiple shows this year, including some coming this fall. It's become the dramatic needle drop to, "Oh shit, this actor/character/scene is going a whole other direction."

I've been saying to friends for a few months that the more I study authoritarianism in other countries, the more concerned I become that the CBS story is the sleeping giant here. The process has been a simmer (people inside the network have spoken out in real-time) but don't mistake slow for safe.
One of the first things Vladimir Putin did on becoming president was take over NTV, the TV channel that hosted a satirical puppet show because he didn't like the Putin doll and how he was portrayed. He arrested NTV's owner and only released him when he signed the channel over. #Colbert
Not good news for late night TV.
CBS said it is canceling “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” at the end of the television season in May, a casualty of industry changes have dealt a crippling blow to advertising revenue.
