3. Withdrawal of all US involvement in Ukraine’s self-defence, including resources which no-one else possesses (e.g. Starlink), say it’s a European issue, over to Europeans.
4. If Ukraine somehow survives, I still get the rare earths without having to help defend Ukraine.

How to get there
1. Negotiate a deal with Ukraine re minerals, with as little as possible in return. Definitely no security guarantees.
2. Negotiate a separate deal with Russia for those same resources, should they be under Russian control, using as a bargaining chip -

I want three things. 1) Demonstrate my own power over others. 2) I don’t see resisting Russia in Europe as important to my interests, so an end to US involvement in the fighting in Ukraine (peace is optional extra). 3) Access to rare earths.
