Farm cat training is going so well! Gator is the best boy! 🐈

You know that stage of healing where you’re simultaneously burning sage and bridges?
Yeah… that one. 😂

You can be gentle and say, “absolutely not.”

Healing doesn’t mean you stop feeling — it means you stop apologizing for protecting your peace.
We had to say goodbye to our sweet kitten, Saoirse, today. 🐈‍⬛💔

She was diagnosed with FIP a devastating illness that she likely had when we adopted her at.

Rest easy, sweet girl. You were so loved. Thank you for spending your short time on earth with us. 🕊️💛
These beautiful humans took me to see “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Lake Worth Playhouse.

In honor of October, I am reading this memoir. 🧙🏻🎃

“We are in a climate crisis, racism is pervasive, inequality is skyrocketing, the middle class is shrinking, and a virus is threatening to kill our most vulnerable and most of us still can’t even agree on if any of this is a problem.“
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again; the black sheep of the family is often the healthiest person in the family unit.

In psychology, this is called dysfunctional homeostasis — the family system organizes itself around keeping the peace with the most reactive person.

It’s unsustainable.
That’s a survival skill, not a relationship skill.

The truth is: you don’t have to perform to be loved. You don’t have to shrink or sparkle just to feel safe. You get to rest. You get to be. 💛
Chaos level: Mom chatting with Cu, Nix buried in homework, and Ro and I knee-deep in brownie batter. 🍫😂
Just finished this one today. 📖 A little light reading, that gave me some new ideas for the garden! 🪴👩🏼‍🌾🥗🥕🥬🫜🫛🥔🥒🍅🌶️

We live in a world that glorifies doing more — productivity, hustle, commitments. But “more” just leaves us exhausted and disconnected.

Growth often comes from doing less — less of what drains you, less people-pleasing, less chasing things and/or people that don’t align with your values.
Huge thank you to Melissa for my jumper! 🥹 Buttons and zippers are really not my friend right now and this makes it so easy for me to get dressed without help! Thank you so much! 💛

Cissy, thanks for the idea!

Healing isn’t about fixing others — it’s about understanding why we tolerated what hurt us.
Growth means facing our own wounds with compassion, not carrying the weight of someone else’s.

Rain or shine, DSA participates in mutual aid in the form of food shares in the community!

Since I’m unable to physically attend since the 2nd stroke last week, I’m assisting by collecting donations. There are LOTS of ways to help!

Still having trouble reading on devices because the light exacerbates the headache, but I am using this time to catch up on some good old-fashioned book reading!

Nothing beats the smell of a real book! 📖 Please visit your libraries to find these hidden gems! 📚

If you walk away from every conversation feeling exhausted, attacked, judged, and/or misunderstood, I’m eventually going to ask you why you keep conversing with them at all.

Huge thank you to everyone who flexed in, checked in, and supported our family in so many different ways through this medical clusterf***. I’m beyond grateful for my tribe — I love you all so very much. 💛
Love watching Roree with Mom. 🥹💛
My patients have been to hell and back and still keep fighting. 💪🏽

Face is a little droopier, but already resolving. No acute rehab (outpatient PT/OT) needed this time and my grippy socks were yellow!

🫤 my new droopy face emoji. 🤣

I have the best hubby and kids ever. Ro caught it incredibly quickly (unfortunately he has practice and the girls are do supportive.
✨ Your whole life can change in a year. Make this the one. ✨

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about choosing one step, one shift, one commitment to yourself at a time.

If you’re feeling ready, let this be the year you begin.
Huge thank you to Matt and Heather for….all the things. Too many to list. I love you.

I’m not talking about toxic positivity. Bad days happen—and it’s important to acknowledge them instead of pretending they don’t. But we don’t have to live in that space.

It’s not about ignoring the hard stuff—it’s about reminding yourself there’s still light, even on the heavy days. 🌱
25 years later! 🎉 It was so good to see everyone again—catching up, laughing, and realizing we all did a damn good job of growing up. The school has changed a lot over the years, but the memories (and the people) are still solid. Castle was such a great venue for bringing us all together.
This weekend I got to meet my friends’ baby, Jack. 💙 He’s 3 months old, with the most beautiful blue eyes. His proud parents, Steve and his wife Laura, are glowing. I’m so grateful to them for including me and for always treating me like family. Such a joy to spend time with this beautiful family. 🥹
