Rain scuppered an alfresco coffee but a cabin and a fire will do nicely 🥰

Made a start on cracking me nuts 😂
Walnuts collected in a local park last yr. Healthy and about as organic as you can get.
I collected a few a day over a few weeks and plenty were left for the squirrels - in fact they, quite rightly, beat me to it mostly :-)

My latest sketching effort.. ( I’m no artist but like to have a go) ..inspired by a recent return visit to the magnificent Kelpies - never tire of seeing them.

I do have thoughtful neighbours- some often bring me bits and pieces they think I might make use of. Often surplus produce too. In particular they know I forage/preserve stuff - one has just called round to give me these useful small jars 🥰 They will definitely come in handy 🫙🫙

The dawn chorus is certainly starting to build momentum ♥️
Lots of birdsong ringing out in the darkness. Had a Wren singing just outside my bedroom window this morning. Never ceases to amaze me how such a tiny bird can be so ( beautifully) loud 🎶🥰

1/2 Always been an avid reader and read hundreds of books in my lifetime but none have captivated me like this series. I started the first book about this time last year and built my collection of all 8 books. I’m half way through the last book which brings the whole story together…

Very productive morning. Then I cooked a roast dinner which was delish 😋. Plated up some for tomorrow’s tea too :-)
Now time to curl up under my heated throw and read my book for an hour or so - bliss 📖🛋️☕️♥️ #sundayafternoonchill

I remember clearly the day I took this photo. I was away for a long weekend in Robin Hood’s Bay ( 12 yrs ago!) but headed over to Scarborough to try and see a Great Northern Diver that had been frequenting the harbour. It popped up right in front of me with the crab it’d caught 😁

I see the bots are creeping their way onto here. I rarely post on “X” due to that annoyance. Blocked a few on here lately. Annoyed that a perfectly innocent post of mine recently was marked by moderators on here as graphic (🤷‍♀️) yet these bots can post freely and nothing is done -I do not understand 🤷‍♀️

My journey to Skipton and back was insanely cheap.
Bus x 2 £6 total
Taxi x 2 £10 total
Best of all the return train journey - an unbelievable £7.75 in total!
Less than £25 for the round trip 🙌
Can’t complain at that! 😁
Booking travel well in advance (and owning a railcard) is def the way to do it 😁

First solo trip I’ve done since escalating arthritis resulted in a knee replacement with an arduous recovery. I did gentle, wonderful things during the mornings. Every afternoon/evening I completely chilled. Bliss ♥️
Needed that rest so much & v proud of myself for completing my self set challenge 🙌

Thoroughly recommend this place. Warm, welcoming, superbly equipped. Huge bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud 😂
Perfectly situated ( 10 min walk) for the fab town centre and the start of the Skipton Castle Woods walk. Loved it ♥️

But me being a Yorkshire lass, when I spotted this I just had to buy it 😂😁
