It's like diversion is more human, more appropriate AND even cheaper or something.

Wish more Kentucky entities would put effort into these interventions (& thanks to those who do!)

As we approach the 2026 General Assembly and election season, we have yet another example of Kentucky Republican officials and/or candidates behaving badly.

Media and influencers: Every single time you write about Epstein you need to be including hotline information for survivors/victims. (Just as you always include 988 info on suicide reporting.) Be mindful of how you're talking about this very difficult and traumatic topic.

The National Parks of the United States are truly a treasure.

Thank you, Utah, for keeping Bryce Canyon National Park open today with state funds.

We shouldn't have to forego basic human rights in order to keep some beautiful things going.

Don't forget to take your daily medication! Preferably before you get to the football game or tailgate!

There's something icky about a church in the downtown area of a city launching a $7.8 million campaign for a parish hall when their neighbors are still facing a housing crisis, increasing food prices are forcing more families to the food bank, etc. It's a special kind of privileged tone deaf.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but "catastrophic plans" for US health insurance are absolute garbage. Invest in a marketplace plan for your health if at all possible.

The Kentucky Democratic Party is on a statewide tour defending Medicaid from cuts by the GOP Congress, saying they will hurt individuals, hospitals, and healthcare workers who rely on the safety net program. WKU reports on their stop in Bowling Green:
WKU professor says his family is among those threatened by cuts to Medicaid coverage
More than 300,000 disabled Kentuckians on Medicaid fear they'll see fewer services under the Republican-backed federal budget. Countering what the Trump administration calls the “Big Beautiful Bill," the Kentucky Democratic Party brought its Defense of Medicaid tour to Bowling Green on Thursday.

Friends, I'm basically leaving my job because of my disabling condition. I'm in a uniquely privileged place to do so, thankfully.

Even with all that, being openly and publicly disabled in this country feels so dangerous right now. But I'm doing it. If you're forced to be silent, you're not alone.

It's the lunch time window in Eastern Standard Time. Have you taken your meds yet today?

Taking regularly prescribed meds is self care. Having access to them is a privilege, sadly.

I've been singing in my head all day "If you're happy and you know it, thank your meds..." #ChronicIllness

Don't forget to wind down at night. Turn on the blue light filter on any devices, or better yet turn them off. Snuggle up with something relaxing.

Constantly reliving moments of shame or embarrassment before bed? Replace the thoughts with positive ones, one at a time.
OR try writing them out.
