Testing out an update to my notes automation and hoping that this will now have a thumbnail on Bluesky. Check out the Cooking Soul "A Tribe Called Christmas" mixtape as it's wonderful.

This is a great episode of the Louis Theroux podcast with Jimmy Carr. I’m always fascinated by how other people work and hearing Jimmy talking about how he plans his shows and comedy is really interesting.

If you haven’t heard this Christmas classic mixtape then you really should enjoy it over the festive period. Lots of Christmas songs cut up with MF DOOM rapping. So good.

We use Google Meet at work and we've got the latest version which supports custom emoji reactions. The crabs are taking over. 🦀

Been trying to use https://conductor.build/ to run some Claude Code agents in the background while I write some documents. Seems pretty great so far and has a really nice UI/UX for creating PRs.

Yes, I’ve made some gravy ready for Christmas. I’m that interesting.

Oooh lovely! A Tiny Desk concert by Air. A band I've never seen live but really should have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjuorGiEUS4

Notion and Linear are not working. Looks like Cloudflare may be having issues again. #HugOps to their team.

Fly Life by Basement Jaxx has just been played on @6music.bsky.social. Almost 30 years old but still a huge tune.

I bought a cheap ASUS DVD drive to rip some old DVDs for my media library. I’m just ripping one my old DJ mix CDs like I’m back in the early 2000s. 😂

Set up a @jellyfin.bsky.social server last night. Managed to get GPU transcoding working too. I can see how the homelab rabbit hole is going to make me buy a NAS next. 🙈

This is fantastic!
I'm getting tired of saying this, but in times of global "someone else's computer" outages, Ceefax remains online from a noisy server in someone's attic.

Finally bought a mini-PC to build a little homelab device. I know almost nothing about them so I’m looking forward to entering a world of Linux confusion. Currently installing Proxmox so let’s see what happens.

All of the card machines at WH Smith’s at Manchester Airport aren’t working. Having to acquire a Boots meal deal for my journey instead. 😀

Busy sorting out my collection of house music to DJ at a company offsite. Forgot about all of the things you need to think about when using Rekordbox. I'm hoping I've formatted everything properly this time. 🤞

Yes, I did buy gingerbread Kit Kats at the supermarket. No, I would not buy them again. 🤢

Fixed the RSS feed for my website notes this morning. @11ty.dev makes it super easy to do. Except I got caught out by caching. I must remember that dates are cached in JSON as strings. 🤦

A fascinating read. And scary too!

(on a more serious note, HOLY S*** this is actually a surprising approach to try and hack someone - and with AI all around... YIKES)

I hate to say it but I wouldn't have been able to reset the MacBook without Claude. Both an IT company and Apple told me I wouldn't be able to unlock the machine without the recovery key. It saved the day.

I have an old MacBook which is stuck in mobile device management limbo. It's been removed from MDM and Apple Business Manager but nobody has a recovery key. Performing surgery to see if I can sort it.

I want to stay up and make my workflow support posting threaded messages but it’s late and I’m old. I’m going to have to write a blog post about this too. POSSE for the win.
