“Hurricane Melissa is yet another stark reminder that islands such as Jamaica face the brunt of accelerating extremes amplified by climate change, despite being among those who are the least responsible for the problem,” Leanne Archer, University of Bristol
This is a terrible decision for the future of the planet. The USA is not immune from climate change and future generations will judge their leaders for this day.

Looks like we are way off target. Babies born this year will be 25 in 2050 - what sort of world will we hand on to them? Is this fair?

It would be great if more churches and others took up SCF approaches. The arrangements I saw were beautiful and far more natural. "Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these." Luke 12:27 (NIV)
2/3 It is also very sad to see the damage done by imported flowers (an estimated 3kg CO2 per flower, plus loads of chemicals, plus lots of justice issues) and floral foam (dangerous chemicals and microplastics cubed).
Yesterday, I went to an event with Sustainable Church Flowers (SCF), held at the Royal Chapel, St James' Palace (the King is a big supporter). It was inspiring to find out about more natural ways of displaying flowers and how beautiful local greenery can be in arrangements. 1/3

Very interesting article on the impact of pollution and climatology on location of poorer districts in cities, and the sad impact of that pollution on children, lessening their life chances.

Many people see eating fish as a greener alternative to meat but we really should see it as a treat rather than a staple. This report is really concerning and is mirrored by similar situations worldwide.

The UK has been a leader in fighting climate change and let's keep that role to provide a better future for our children and grandchildren and the world's biodiversity.
This is good news! Some people say that it's not worth doing net zero because other countries won't be. This data shows that moving to renewable energy is a global trend. 1/2

This is utter madness both environmentally and economically. It trashes the future for no gain in the present, apart from the oil industry and those whose wealth depends on it.
