Hades II

While I probably still prefer the first games story, gameplay-wise, this game greatly expands upon the first one! I love the two different routes, all the interactions in the Crossroads, and the music & art direction is as good as ever! An incredible follow-up to one of my favourite games!

Fancy That - PinkPantheress

I don't know why but I've really been getting into PinkPantheress & her music recently. And this album is really fun & chill. I kinda wish it was longer because of that, but the songs on here are just so insanely catchy & I've been listening to them a ton since then!

I really loved this movie!! The amount of personality each animal expressed without any dialouge and seeing them all grow closer was simply fantastic. And to think a movie with such incredible environments and animations was made by such a relatively small team is nothing short of incredible!

This feels like complete polar opposite to when Nintendo dropped the Emio Teaser without any explanation

The Lion King - Musical

I've wanted to see this musical for a while now and I'm so glad I finally got to see it live!
The production on this was absolutely insane, especially the costumes and puppets they used.
I definitely still prefer the original animated movie, but this was pretty great!!

Maybe it's just because I recently read the book, but I'm surprised at just how many Odyssey references there are in Hades 2 compared to the first game from what I picked up

Odysseus is a major side character, Circe shows up as an NPC and Polyphemus, Scylla and Charybdis are all bosses you fight

Homestuck The Animated Pilot

I haven't read Homestuck yet so idk how well they adapted the source material, but I really liked the animation & art style! Also hearing Toby Fox in this is still so surreal to me. I hope we see more, but I'll definitely have to read the original comics at some point.

Just noticed how my top 4 favourite game releases of this year have all been indie games. I swear 2025 has easily been one of the best years in gaming for me!!^^
