Imagine being turned away from a bathroom, hospital, or cinema for “not looking female enough”. The leaked EHRC guidance could do just that. Along with my Lib Dem colleagues, I’ve written to the Minister calling for new, inclusive, practical guidance that protects everyone’s rights.

I had a lovely time visiting Beaulieu Park School and meeting students and staff. We talked about politics and the role of national and local government in our daily lives. The students asked some brilliant questions, and it was great to see how engaged and curious they were.

Had a great time chatting with #ChelmsfordCollege. We talked about devolution and local government, youth engagement and votes at 16. It’s fantastic to see young people using their voices and making change in their communities.

Yesterday's Budget had a few positives – scrapping the two-child benefit cap and freezing rail fares. But overall, it fell short with no help for Chelmsford’s hospitality, and more people dragged into higher tax brackets. My quick thoughts on yesterday's Budget are in the link in the comments.

Another #Budget, another disappointment. People in Chelmsford and beyond face a real cost-of-living crisis, which this Government ignores, leaving people with higher taxes and growing uncertainty.

Women wait longer for diagnoses, face unequal health outcomes, and too often have their symptoms dismissed. I spoke with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Women’s Health about how we can change this. It’s time to act. The Government must listen to women and prioritise urgent reform.

Violence against women and girls remains widespread, yet funding for vital support services is still uncertain. Today marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the start of a campaign to raise awareness and drive action.

Hospices are under immense pressure, with staff being let go and beds shutting down across the country. I visited Farleigh Hospice to chat about the challenges facing the sector, tour the facilities, and meet some of the lovely team. We’re lucky to have them in #Chelmsford.

It was great to visit Moto Pizza in Chelmsford today but sad to see thriving local businesses struggling with rising costs. The owner told me a VAT cut would make a real difference for them. That's why the Lib Dems are pushing for a 5% cut to help businesses keep prices fair and staff supported.

Change happens when someone asks. As Women and Equalities spokesperson and a woman myself, I know how important it is for more women to step into politics. Only 40% of MPs are women, and we need more. I almost didn’t stand until someone asked. Now, I challenge you to ask too. #AskHerToStand

I'm aware of local concerns about mini-buses bringing asylum seekers from RAF Wethersfield to Chelmsford. But Essex Police are unable to access the £2m funding given to Braintree Council to support local policing in Chelmsford. I've urged the Home Secretary to provide more funds to Essex Police.

I'm aware of local concerns about mini-buses bringing asylum seekers from RAF Wethersfield to Chelmsford. But Essex Police are unable to access the £2m funding given to Braintree Council to support local policing in Chelmsford. I've urged the Home Secretary to provide more funds to Essex Police.
