There are three things Rachel Reeves should bear in mind tomorrow: obscene wealth doesn't 'trickle down', tax cuts don't 'pay for themselves' and the private sector isn't 'more efficient'

I guess the brave BBC will be sandblasting Orwell's "If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear" off the front of Broadcasting House?
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Today I’m delivering my open letter to the Prime Minister and Chancellor calling on them to: Tax Extreme Wealth - Tackle the Cost of Living Crisis.

There’s still time to join over 20,000 others and add your name before I take it to Downing Street. 👇

🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.

Nearly ten years on, the first full assessment of Brexit confirms what millions warned: Britain made itself poorer

Here’s how £100 in Tax was spent in 2023–24:

£22 → NHS
£6 → Defence
£10 → Education
£10 → Debt interest
£11.40 → State pensions
£4.15 → Working-age welfare (PIP, Universal Credit, health support)
£0.50 → Asylum system
£0.70 → Overseas aid

And what is the biggest issue that so many get angry about?
