Greetings, all!

Here's an animation depicting NASA's Dragonfly mission to Titan. With all of the NASA cuts going on in Trumpistan, is this still going ahead? Would be a massive shame if not.

Discord is trying to add new AI features to their platform. They're asking people to fill out a survey on how they feel about AI and what "value" it would add to their platform. Please take a few minutes to fill it out and tell them to fuck off with AI.

Ice spires (around 100 metres tall) on Jupiter's moon Callisto. It is thought that these formed from an ancient impact billions of years ago. They are very slowly eroding over time, the ice subliming and dust within the ice accumulating to absorb Sunlight and continue the erosion.

Here's another shot of a DQ Her star (also called an Intermediate Polar). Made in 3DS Max and Photoshop.#sciart #spaceart

Animation of a type of binary star system called a DQ Her star. A white dwarf is in mutual orbit with a larger red dwarf. The strong gravitational field of the dense white dwarf draws hot gas from its companion, which forms an accretion disc around the white dwarf.

Must just be me, then
Modellers! Do any of you recall the horror models from the 70s by Aurora? Frankenstein, Mummy, etc? Some were re-released a while ago by third parties using the original molds. The first model I ever made as a kid was this Hunchback of Notre Dame so I had to buy it again. Immense fun building it!

What's the best way to get seen on #Artstation? I struggle to gain traction there. Is it best to just have a portfolio page just full of individual artworks? Or is is best to create 'projects', inside of which you list multiple related artworks?

@6to12elbow.bsky.social Hi. I am a freelance illustrator and loather of AI art (as it has always said in my profile). I never knowingly repost AI crap yet I am on your AI Horseshit list. Respectfully, you have made a mistake and it is damaging to me. Please remove me. Thank you.

Anybody know if it's possible to remove myself from lists, and/or prevent others from adding me to a list in the first place?

I'm fed up with all of these stupid names for different 'types' of full Moon. Wolf? And the media just regurgitates this cack ad nauseum. The Moon's distance from the Earth varies by about 11%. You would never notice unless you could compare both closest and farthest Moons side by side. #supermoon

I wish I knew what it is I am posting that is so offensive. Three more blocks today. I've posted astrophysics and scifi only. Oh well. Life moves on.

Stylised and far-fetched animation of an orbital ring around the Earth. Such structures, if we ever build them, will in reality be invisible from such a distance.

JWST has been at it again.
🔵 In 2025, the NASA/ESA/CSA #Webb Space Telescope found a new moon orbiting Uranus! Called S/2025 U1, it joined the 28 other known moons around the ice giant. Webb’s infrared view also revealed the planet’s rings and atmospheric details in stunning clarity 🧪🔭

For the final day, 24, of #ArtAdventCalendar, I present this illustration which I call Exploration of Amalthea. The latter is a very small moon of Jupiter in a very close orbit. Jupiter would fill half the sky seen from here!

Greetings all, and I hope that the first complete rotation of our planet in this new year has been kind.

Here's an animation of the planet Mars rising above its innermost moon, Phobos, as the latter rotates.

Any fans of prog-rock band Eloy out there? They always seem overshadowed by the likes of Yes, Genesis, Alan Parsons etc but to me they are SO much better. This one's my favourite, from 1979. Up there with Floyd, Crimson and Mooody Blues.
