This is not a sculpture of a grasshopper made of sand. It is a Mottled Sand Grasshopper at Goosewing Beach Preserve in Little Compton, RI

The grasshopper is camouflaged to look like sand. It is the color of sand with small specs resembling more sand. Its sandy exterior, no doubt, holds a heart of sand.

In 2016 I shot my 1st photo as a birder. I had seen a friend post photos of birds and I thought "I can do that". Turns out I couldn't, so I shot this RI Red instead. I'll feature this photo in a talk at Westport Art Group on 09/27 at 5pm in a panel with other photographers. 1740 Main Rd, Westport.
