Storyteller and writer of fiction and history books. Lives on a hill in Worcestershire.
We often walk by the river towards this wonderful watermill at #Fladbury. I based a scene in Water, Slaughter Everywhere on it, being able to picture it so clearly as I wrote. #books #audiobook #history #writer #fiction #CrimeFiction #mysterybooks #fictionbooks #novel #psychic

This is a lovely quote, isn't it? I'm lucky in that, from baby to bus pass, each of my homes has been happy and full of love. I never forget how fortunate I am to enjoy warmth from the inside out. With those foundations, you can achieve anything.

In these days of knee-jerk reactions over managers' capabilities, or not, especially after bad defeats, I was reminded of Bruce, who lasted just the one season at Arsenal. Read my book, The Arsenal Story, available in digital and print formats from Amazon. #arsenal #COYG

I wanted to create a crime mystery series set in Worcestershire, where readers would stay with each book (as I have!). Water, Slaughter Everywhere and the Proofreader are also available as audiobooks on Audible and Apple.

What do Chelsea greats Bobby Tambling, Alan Birchenall and Charlie Cooke have in common? Yes, these 3 Kings of the King’s Road each moved to Crystal Palace. Either team could do with them on Sunday! Read my book The Chelsea Story, available from Amazon. #CFC #Chelsea #CPFC

Looking out of the window this morning, I couldn't help thinking of the 1924 FA Cup final, known as the 'Rainy Day Final,' when Newcastle beat Villa 2.0. Probably still raining on Sunday? Read my book: The Aston Villa Story, available on Amazon. #AstonVilla #nufc #football #soccer

Blue Monday or another Whites triumph? A Leeds United fan for almost 60 years, this is my latest piece as LUFC plan to travel to Everton again. #LeedsUnited #LUFC #MOT #EvertonFC #EFC

Blue Monday?
We all knew that being back in the Premier League would put Leeds United back in the spotlight, having bossed the Championship in terms of goals, points and media interest. Not only are the first...

'Bread of Heaven' is the 4th and latest in the series of Inspector Harcourt crime mystery stories, set in Worcestershire.
I am currently working on Book 5 in the series, which will be set on the canals near Bromsgrove. #books #history #fiction #CrimeFiction #mysterybooks #psychic #worcestershire

Michelle and I were lucky enough to visit Lindisfarne last year as part of our road trip around the North East of England. The causeway we had to cross to reach it made the most impact on me. #books #audiobook #history #writer #fiction #CrimeFiction #lindisfarne #holyisland

I came across this quote from George Best when researching my book 'The Leeds United Story.' The first Roses derby came almost 120 years ago when Leeds City won a 2nd Division encounter at Bank Street 3.0 on 15 January 1906. #lufc #mufc #mot #ManchesterUnited #LeedsUnited

Belle says these words to Scrooge in 'A Christmas Carol' before she releases him from his engagement to her. Going right to the heart of the story (and my own), they have always left me feeling profoundly sad, especially as, once read, they cannot be unsaid. #books #fiction

I don't love the dishwasher, but I do respect it.
Yesterday, after I'd fed it an early treat of rinse aid, it rather gruffly (too much salt?) suggested Michelle and I might be drinking too much.
So, stay safe, and do not overdo it this Christmas...

After years of getting up at 5.20 to commute to London each day, I was persuaded that waking up early was a bit of a curse, now that I don't need to.
How wrong was I? This is an unexpected dawn view from our bedroom window. Truly, a light in the darkness. #worcestershire

This is such a simple truth, isn't it?

George wrote the fantasy novels 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' which were adapted for TV, becoming the series 'Game of Thrones' and 'House of the Dragon.'
