For new followers, hi! I don't really know how to describe myself these days, but I used to work on @steamdb.info and various WoW tools intended to make data more accessible to more people. I'm pro-open data, anti-ad and a big supporter of game archival, with a personal focus on archiving WoW stuff.

Okay, cool, that confirms that works, thanks!

So you can't move the house itself up, but you can decor, so you could make a decor based treehouse, I think.

Awesome!

A good example of why this needs to happen is e.g. the bug that happens sometimes when you copy over a new character to PTR and a Jailer cinematic plays no matter what map your copy character is on, because that cutscene was designed to play after getting x runes while at the runecarver in Torghast.

Oh for sure, but that's likely a specific spell/script that's set up to do that for that cinematic alone, not a generic one that'll work for all of them. To do that for all existing cinematics they'd need to make such spells/scripts for each which probably isn't the way to go about such a feature.

Excellent, thanks!

One thing I personally can't test is having any non account-wide achievements over multiple characters, so if anyone has any of those that reward decor, do let us know if it'll show multiple earned achievements from multiple characters at the same time.

Would like a few people to test; we added filtering by decor from earned achievements to the housing hub! Log in with Battle.net on housing.wowdb.com then go to the settings page and sync achievements for a char. After that, you should be able to filter by "earned achievements" on the decor page.

Reading up on @nobbel87.bsky.social's interview and realized that the library in the Arcantina would be the perfect place to put a thing that lets us play old in-game cutscenes. The only issue is that all of the IGCs happen on other maps, so would need new tech to temp TP or otherwise load the maps.

We added ~450 new vendor sources to the housing hub today. Blizzard added vendors for around ~250 decor items throughout both neighborhoods (except Horde is missing a pirate still, I think) and people already noticed decor added to other vendors as well. So. Much. Decor.

Yeah, I'm going to try not to do -too- much of this on Alpha because I have such a huge list of stuff to do for both work and hobby projects and I have a feeling it would actually negatively influence all of that. :D

Yesterday's exterior player housing decoration session got me into that same flow state I get into when I'm doing kitbashing in Blender or doing mapping stuff. I am worried for my time allocation in the next few months.

Negative, they are separate.

Last post before bed. Here's a quick tour of my plot now that I've spent some time on it. Most of this decor was bought at the decor vendors in the neighborhood hub.

Smart -- the pirates in the Alliance neighborhood cove sell the Horde decor. I assume there's a similar method of buying Alliance decor in the Horde neighborhood.

@tande.tv you'll like this one I think

The physics-enabled curtains are one of the many many decor items now available for purchase from the neighborhood vendors.

So naturally, I went ahead and did this.

This should make costume changes at the neighborhood stage a bit easier! Surely he could also get a transmog gossip option... right?

I don't know why these videos are so loud by the way, this only happens for WoW for some reason

Yes, I know they said the barbershop-like exterior customization was crashy but I decided to try it out anyways.
