I’m a completist so I needed the year to end before posting my 25 favorite albums of 2025.

I wish Rosalía’s ‘LUX’ connected with me but my music consumption this past year after losing everything in the Eaton Fire in Altadena was all about ease and immediacy. Maybe I’ll vibe with it in 2026.
Still going…

I played CDs all day. Wish every Sunday could be like this.

I’ve been dreading this anniversary week for months. Tonight I’ll be with community in Altadena as we make it to the 1-year mark.

Dropped my first “10 SONGS” playlist for 2026. This week’s collection has Mariah Carey, Radiohead, ANOHNI and 2 songs from Heated Rivalry (which I finished last nite and thought was just okay but I digress…)

I was a 7-yr old OBSESSED with this song in ‘76.

Yes I did. This Jonathan Jeremiah album instantly transports me back to my ‘70s childhood of shag carpets, wood stereo consoles, Bacharach and AM radio warmth.

A cover so stunning I keep a copy in our living room.

I love an album that immediately transports me to a different continent.
January 2, 2026 at 6:25 PM
Yes… but it should be noted that it’s the *physical release of ‘Here For It All’ with the solo Mariah version of “Sugar Sweet” - not the streaming version of the album that has Kehlani and Shenseea on the song.

Addison Rae, JADE, Rochelle Jordan, Mariah Carey, Blood Orange, Baxter Dury, Olivia Dean, Perfume Genuis, Sarah McLachlan and more in the above list all were a balm during a rocky year.

Reading about the time Linda Ronstadt met Princess Margaret at a Beverly Hills party in 1978. With color commentary by Michael Caine. Did not go well!

My 10 favorite songs of 2025. This was difficult!

But when I pare down a list I pick songs I’ll want to hear years from now. It’s not about contemporary impact… it’s about longevity.

These are 2025 songs that will follow me into the future. Including Mariah Carey, Baxter Dury and Addison Rae.

My favorite lyric from a 2025 song. This line knocked me sideways. I thought about it for days and days...

Can’t believe I missed Brandi Carlile! I’m tired.

I don’t know how this Baxter Dury album flew into my orbit but its songs are an engrossing mix of salty storytelling, underpinnings of despair, and open-shirted intercontinental characters set to dance music. Like a wild mix of “Trainspotting” and Cerrone.

Look at these lyrics they are fn poetry…
