When people ask “how can we afford to eradicate poverty” they probably aren’t aware that the UK govt already spends £100bn+ managing the effects of poverty (illness, crime, poor educational attainment, reduced labour mobility and activity etc etc)

It shows the LibDems are closer to many of those people politically , but the message from the LibDems is less likely to cut through except perhaps in areas they target with effective ground campaigns

We might be further ‘left’ on both than many of them, but as Labour vacate that space, there is growth potential

If the UK now recognises the Palestinian state, surely it must now call for Israel to withdraw from its settlements in the West Bank?

Recognition must lead to clear opposition to Israeli land grabs and acknowledge Israel as an invading force. Otherwise it’s meaningless
