I've been checking backups of my previous projects archive recently and finding a few unfinished ideas... here's a little video I made when my album 'CLARA' was released... best on headphones!

It's been well over a year now since I recorded this C15 edition for Human Geography Recordings, not sure where that time has gone! If you've never been to #SuttonScarsdale here in Derbyshire, I'd definitely recommend a visit...

On #PhotoFriday we visit Ripley in 1932 when you might have been surprised to see the Loch Ness monster taking a stroll along Cromford Road. But don’t worry, this magnificent beast was taking part in Ripley Carnival and definitely friendly!

#EYAMonsters #1930s
The Loch Ness Monster made from a long length of fabric and a papier mache head. You can see children’s legs underneath and standing alongside is a man dressed in a kilt and sporran, and a child carrying a sign reading 'Loch Ness Monster Beware Do Not Touch'.

Always nice to see a bit of original road / path surface hiding underneath the tarmac, some fairly chunky stones there!

That's all the cassette releases I've published via the MTN Bandcamp, but there's also 'Engine Vein' and 'A Question of Belief' that are digital only. (Also two tapes on Human Geography Recordings complete the discography...)

Enjoy! Thanks for picking one up 🪨

speaking of which... #standingstoneSunday - Foxlow Edge menhir, Derbyshire, September 2025.

Had a fantastic time rambling with my fellow Scientific Ramblers out at Foxlow Edge yesterday, the resident menhir is quite a character too!

Such an enigmatic location, it's definitely on my list to see

This is the back of the stone, it's very worn, but I think I can make out 1779 at the base, almost in the undergrowth...

Drove past this lovely old marker stone (guidestoop?) earlier and had to stop for a nosey - standing at the cross roads between Jaggers Lane and Wirestone Lane on Middle Moor nr Matlock. #derbyshirehistory #PeakDistrict #oldstone

Archaeology as cubism.

Rather than a Miro or a Braque, this is actually a drone shot of 1870s brick clamps in Mickleover, excavated by Wessex Archaeology in 2021. Short-lived structures churning out bricks for the Great Northern Railway as construction moved through.

#Derbyshire #archaeology
An aerial view of 8 rectangular 'brick clamps' - temporary structures used in brick production. They were active in the 1870s as the Great Northern Railway moved through - there was a tunnel, cuttings and the former Mickleover Station just to the north. Red brick, yellow sandstone, green field, brown earth, dappled woodland. Image credit Wessex Archaeology 2021
