Earth's escape velocity = 11.27 km/s, so get used to being here. I take between 5-8 K photos per year. Some are even good! 🇨🇦 He/Him

A little embarrassed to admit “riverbank” escaped me as I was posting that.

Right below my apartment building, on the river's shoreline.

We're at peak autumn now, I think.

The entire hillside looked like this, so I worked to find a tiny bit that was interesting.

Again, a new 100-400mm is on my list. I love shooting things that are far away.

The US imported over $400 billion worth of goods from China in 2024. Americans are going to see a lot fewer things on shelves and huge price increases.

Donald Trump has no moral standing on any issue.

Photographers: is there a way to have Lightroom Classic show where the camera was focused?

When previewing shots on my Canon 90D's LCD, I see a lovely little red box. Is something like that available in Lightroom?

Thanks.

Thank you; I thought I'd seen her before.

Better be careful — not only are the Nobel name and logo registered trademarks owned by the Nobel Foundation, but this is the kind of shit that would probably make them never vote for someone, no matter how unrestrained the lobbying effort is.

I admire your optimism.

I'm probably not remembering this correctly, but I thought we saw this pupper once before with a note that said the bump wasn't an issue?

😂

1) I'm assuming it was impossible to stop/turn around
2) I forgive you
3) accidents happen

If it helps manage the trauma, the Comedy Cave in Surrey appears to be long gone (below).

I did find a Comedy Cave in Calgary that appears active, if you ever feel like trying to vanquish the demons. But then you'd have to be in Alberta, and I can't recommend that.

If you zoom in, you can just make out the viewing platform on the left edge of the falls. It is a huge (very loud) waterfall. I’m looking forward to another trip there, perhaps in the spring.

In the end, I spent three nights, four days exploring the area around Tumbler Ridge, B.C.

Absolutely gorgeous, if you get the chance!

First Light - Kinuseo Falls

I thought about saving this to post on Wednesday, but nah.

Unabashed leafer here … even when all I’m carrying is my iPhone 8. 🤣 This is one of the prettiest trees in Quesnel.

I did shoot this one wider.

Streaky geese ...

I was out for a very foggy sunrise this morning, but found I was struggling with wide scenes. So, I changed tactics and looked for smaller things.

I've got my first cup of coffee, but my day began in the cold and fog, hoping light would break through.

When I was setting my tripod and camera up over my head, and it spun around and caught me right in the mouth, I decided I should start with coffee.

Not sure if this was worth it. 😂

AI companies are spending billions on deals with each other, which boost their value.

This has helped twenty billionaires tied to AI add $450B to their fortunes in 2025.

Meanwhile, an MIT study found that 95% of companies using AI haven't seen returns on investment.

Be warned.

A few more shots taken around Martin Falls. If you're driving Hwy 97, stop 25 km south of Chetwynd for this. Well worth it, but be mindful of the slopes going down. They'd be challenging in wet weather.

Would you have tried to crawl inside?

I'm still surprised I didn't see at least one bear during this trip.
