HI. I'm a creature of the Internet who has been around for a long time. You may know me from my cartoony furry art, or my fursuit tutorial teaching efforts, VRC endeavors, or my hiking photos. I use bsky for enrichment. If you found me here & followed me you have to be nice to me, I'm sensitive.

Rocky coastline and scraggly trees with moss and lichen. For these I often post only with emoji because the photos should speak for themselves. I live in the pacific northwest and live near many parks and enjoy hiking all the time and finding the deepest moss that I could encounter as a goal. #hiking #pnw #outdoors

I love VRChat. Its so fun to spend time with friends & friends-of-friends there. Recently I just passed my 5th year since joining it. I appreciate everyone I have had the chance to meet there. It really does a good job filling the "third place" niche for me (AKA a location that's not Work or Home).
A virtual cartoon coyote lit up in green, orange, and blue lighting with a dark grid background. The primary model I use is a base by Skip4d, and the shader currently shown on it is Warren's Fast Fur so the coyote looks like it is flocked with fur. A paw is up waving, the tongue is sticking out slightly in a cute little blep expression. The world this was taken in is called Believer's Box and it was really nice for photos. A cartoon coyote holds up 2 wolves that live in different time zones. A white wolf named Deka and a black wolf named Wolffin. The coyote is wearing a stupid sweater that I also have IRL that's of garfield the cat with the text "eat and sleep" repeated all over it. We joke that these wolves are either hungry or sleepy each time we see one another. Depending on the time zone that status flips. This photo matches some art Wolffin kindly made for us that is laid out just like this moment this picture has recreated. Its really fun art and I like it a lot. I sadly forget the name of the world this photo was taken in, sorry about that! A crowd of various virtual creatures are gathered in an underground burrow and are all engaged in watching a TV show together. Some are sitting close, others are hugging. The video screen is showing a frame of a sentient food truck named Nekomaru falling down a cliff. This world is "Decision Hole" a hangout world that I spent time making in Blender and Unity! Five virtual creatures are dancing together in an MMD world. Which is a special kind of world that puts your avatar in the scene to re-create music videos or other things with the pre-programmed motions and lip sync that you can watch your avatar character in with your friends. Some of these dances are very cool, with real motion capture used as the dance animations. Others are keyframed/tweened but still fun to see. The background is a volcanic themed dance floor. This world is "Nero's MMD World" with the Magma Arena background selected. #vr #vrchat #vrc #furry #vrcworld

Still feeling sad today. On top of that: dryer broke. water in our neighborhood is not working & i need a shower. it's almost dark & too late to go on a walk despite it being 3:45pm. my houseplants are loosing leaves because my plant lights also broke & we keep forgetting to open the curtains. :(

Feeling really lonely in a "I miss my dog" kind of way. I just had a huge wave of sadness hit me thinking about my past dog Turbo. I miss the day-to-day caring for him stuff the most.

@fromageophage.bsky.social Here's some Delrin Rod tail tutorial images + a new diagram. Re: the old guide you asked about, not sure which may have been missing tho. These are sadly not original img quality but hope its still informative. I put a little extra context in the alt text on the diagrams.
The original diagram from the tutorial showing 2" sections of delrin rod totaling 4" along the top side to give enough of a stable base for the tail to wag against. With the height equaling the width of the belt you will be using. And it used zip ties to secure things together. Instead of these being right angles they can be gentler curves as well. As the right angles do cause some strain on the Delrin when heated and shaped. Here is my delrin rod tail I made at the time (photo from 2005) it was freestanding and very waggy. Another view if the delrin rod tail I made. Here is an alternate diagram using a looping structure. These loops can be worn with a belt or slipped into the back of pants if the tail is not too heavy in the end. Best to use a belt with it though!!! I've been working on a cool project where I recreate a local-to-me landmark for a future VRChat world. I'm particularly proud of the bridge so far. I followed a 1930's planning diagram and used single vertices connected with edges. Then I used a "Skin" modifier in Blender to create the thickness!

The colors are in greyscale to highlight the selected vertex points in orange. #blender #bridge #3d An engineering diagram from the 1930s of Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges crossing Whidbey island (misspelled Whidby in the diagram), Pass Island, and Fidalgo Island. The measurements are in imperial, so I had to put Blender in a cursed Imperial measurement mode to accomplish this. Its super weird to use that feature since its usually in metric. A Unity screenshot with temporary textures on the terrain and no plants. But it does have water, clouds, and a fog effect. I still need to make the rockfaces more accurate, and give the whole area foliage. But so far it is looking nice. This will be for a world in VRChat eventually. #VRChat #VRWorld #wip Finally, here is a photo I have taken from the beach I intend to recreate for this view. The rockfaces are much taller than in my WIPs, but I will get them more accurate eventually. I am recreating the feel of the place rather than exact 1:1 since I don't think its possible to put that much detail into something that will be otherwise a distant feature.

I'm really sad it was cloudy for the big aurora tonight. I went to the beach tonight. All I could see was a bit of pink in the gaps in the clouds (1st pic) the other 2 are just nice night ambiance since I didn't manage to get hardly any aurora on em.
A heavy enough cloud cover to block most of the aurora except for a fairly bright pink gash of open sky in the middle displaying the aurora colors. You can see in the long exposure some light pollution from land. This was taken at the beach. Island and water are only visible in silhouette. A view of the sky from my backyard. Only the brightest stars are cutting through the atmosphere, clouds are blocking the way as well. A faint gradient of green to pink is only visible on camera and not to the naked eye. Tree and bush silhouettes frame the view. A nice view of Mt Erie in the distance reflecting on still ocean water. There is no aurora present due to the cloud cover in this shot. It's just nice beach at night ambiance. I could hear seals or sea lions catching their prey and thrashing them in the water, and coming up for breath, it was a very interesting audioscape at night.

Researching water shaders for Unity worlds. Any recommendations? Seems like the red_sim ones and the shoreline shader by nemu90kww are promising. But I don't want still placid water. The place I want to make has a unique tidal waveflow, should I just animate that in mesh?

I had the honor of being asked to join @matrices.bsky.social and @dekawolf.bsky.social for Spookality. Deka had the idea of a creature that rides the tv signals and jumps out of your TV. Deka did the vision, TV and animated shaders, I modeled/rigged, Matrices did the Unity insanity.

Went to the dentist again yesterday and had work on my inner front teeth. Since my tongue touches it all the time I kept asking for the surface to be polished just a bit smoother, but I didn't think of the edges. Turns out I unintentionally asked for them to sharpen my teeth! 😬

Pokemon research professor Laventon says "A completed Pokedex, at last..." I just have Arceus left to catch and I died in the first barrage every time so I need to re-learn the game well enough to subdue it.

Dedicating all my my braincells to fix a stupid bug in something that can't be tested alone is so stressful. I think I figured it out. I think the new behavior is better even if the bug is not fixed, but the bug is so hard to reproduce ahhhh.

All week I wanted a shake full of enrichment crumbs(aka McFlurry, Blizzard, Sonic Blast etc) Today I made the mistake of attempting McDonald's. The drive thru was full. I was deep in it by the time I saw the No Ice Cream sign. I had to walk out and ask the car behind me to reverse so I could escape.

We did it! We accomplished and made something really awesome as a team for VRChat Spookality! I'm thrilled everything (within our control) is working. We will have a big reveal soon, for now have this less exciting performance stats preview as a teaser.
Windows good rated, mobile medium rated. 14900 triangles and 2 skinned meshes, 2 materials slots. My teammates are DekaWolf and Scrunk.
