シェズとベルナデッタの会話の中でパルミラの樹木について言及されていたことを思い出した。

中国のことわざで「胡楊（コトカケヤナギ）は生きて千年枯れず、枯れても千年倒れず、倒れても千年腐らず。」という。
この木は生命力が非常に強いから「砂漠の王」という別名を持っています。
ちなみに、ウイグル語での胡楊の名前の意味は、「最も美しい木」です。
その葉は幼い頃は緑色で、その後燦爛たる金色に変わります。

樹液はアルカリ性で、胃病の治療にも用いられます。
「胡楊の涙」と呼ばれています。

そう言えばカリードという名前は、「不滅」という意味です。
そしてクロードは、支援で以前は泣いていたと語っていますね…
