I never know it wasnt national from the outset, every days a school day and all that

If you had an accident in the 1960s, dial 999 and put the kettle on...the Vauxhall Victor is coming!

I was disappointed in the rear handles too, trading a 156 to 159. Fortunately they are nice chrome things

You can tell how well something is going by the number of tools surrounding your now cold cup of tea.
Just need to undo one 13mm bolt...

Feels like a good day to go and fix something in the garage...

Also, was just listening to this in the car, very much Lurleen Lumpkin.

I did the photos for this! It really was warping time with its time warpyness, it's just lovely and you know its going to be perfect.
I was initially confused by the spare suspension, "so if thats the rare stuff in here, whats on the car? Oh, also the rare stuff"

Me too to, but I owned one of the very last form the final batch of RHD 2005/55 plate 156s, so have a soft spot for them as well

That was a whole other design language, very 80s and very cool

Alfa 156, 159 and Giulia. Has there been a better looking, lineage of saloons this side of the millennium? I dont think so

There is not. We've got the dual carriageway near us down to 1 lane for 4 months for 'surveying', with 40 minute delays daily, then a planned closure nearby that should have been stopped when the other main road had to be shut for gas, everything is funnelled into 1 or 2 small roads

Road works have got out of hand. 2 of 3 routes out of my village were closed, main roads off M20 & M2 closed & almost every other route today had works or closures.
But, where have all the roadworkers come from? Theres never normally this much - do they emerge once a years like flying ants??

A pick up truck looks like a handy thing to have around the place, so I tried an Isuzu D Max V Cross for a week to see how I got on

Take your own reusable straw, problem solved!

Not cars, but you've heard them barking in the background of car videos...It might look like butter wouldnt melt, but 3 seconds before they were a blur of growls, teeth and squabbling

Its interesting to compare to my 159, only 3 years apart (although the 156 was its true rival, and felt much lighter and sportier than both), as even with more than double the mileage the Alfa feels tighter and more engaging, but the 75 is just a lovely place to be if youre not in a hurry

You could buy this one...its on Car and Classic as we speak!

Autumnul Rover 75. Another day, another 00’s saloon on duty, the Rover’s wood and velour feel just right today
