Even as we’ve seen their consistent growth throughout the season, it’s still wild to me to watch the Spurs just thoroughly dominate a quality opponent on their home floor like this. They’ve improved so much, so quickly.

If you’re losing to the Spurs by a lot at halftime just start the 3rd quarter in a zone defense and you might get lucky

Mitch Johnson indicated Sochan’s significant dip in minutes (just 4 over the last two games) is solely a coaching decision. “Jeremy has been great,” the coach said. “We have been on the same page, a lot of communication.”

Some Saturday afternoon reading from yesterday ICYMI 👇
Five for Friday: Catching your breath, the Return of the Vic, and Mitch goes full Pop.

Plus a Keldon observation, and early returns on the Spurs’ full guard trio:

The Spurs got some familiar faces back at practice Sunday in New Orleans, including one Victor Wembanyama.

What does that mean for Wemby, Castle, etc moving forward? The Express-News -- and only the Express-News -- was there to find out:

Gonna go ahead and post last night’s postgame show before I turn into a Texas Tech account for the next couple of hours.

As Isaac Newton once wrote, an object in motion stays in motion until halftime brings it to a screeching halt:
Terrible third quarter dooms Spurs
Watch now | The difference in energy levels between the first and second half was jarring for a San Antonio team in the middle of a crazy travel schedule.

Three things (plus link for CK newsletters game chat):

1) Everyone has to rebound. Everyone.

2) No Kornet — gotta pack the paint and contain the dribble. To quote Stan Van Gundy, “Form a f***ing wall!”

3) Pray for 3-pt variance to be on your side

So much for 'schedule losses'
Watch now | Nobody would've blamed San Antonio had it fallen short on the second night of a back-to-back in Orlando, but the Spurs had zero interest in such things.
