Turns out trying to interview an Olympic gold medal winning triathlete while running 5kilometres with him is something of a challenge

"No 10 vetoed the publication of the report at the last minute over fears that it was too negative... and would beg too many questions about what the UK was doing to avert the severe impacts of ecosystems failing."

Absolutely incredible stuff here. Incredible but stupid.

Palace's record breaking unbeaten run finally came to an end against Everton, and, while Glasner says it would be a "cheap excuse" it feels as though fatigue played a part at the end of the game.

Missed chances, yes, but not seeing it out may be fatigue #CPFC

Are Crystal Palace feeling the strain from too many games?
With Palace's brilliant unbeaten run now over, it is time to look at how Glasner manages his squad and what could be done differently.

I did have a different experience as media than the fans would. It's a long walk but not as far as Goodison. I didn't feel like it was a soulless bowl but the atmosphere was terrible.
mattwoosie.bsky.social
I don't like new stadiums and expected to really dislike Everton's but it's actually fantastic. A lot better than the Tottenham stadium as well. Easier to get to from the city centre which is a bonus although still a bit of a trek

Full-time: Everton 2-1 Palace

Really really poor collapse from Palace whose energy just deserted them about halfway through the second half.

The unbeaten run ends on Merseyside at 19 games. #CPFC

Beto's header saved so well, but then Munoz's clearance is against Grealish and it bundles into the goal.

How Palace have lost this I do not know #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
Goal. Everton look like they've won it. Henderson with a brilliant save but it's not enough as Jack Grealish turns it in afterwards.

Everton 2-1 Palace. #CPFC

Try eight minutes added time #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
Palace have massively lost their way since the equaliser. But Justin Devenny and Christantus Uche are ready to come on with two minutes plus what I reckon will be five minutes of added time remaining #CPFC

Goal. Everton are level as N'Diaye sends Dean Henderson the wrong way with a calm penalty #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
Maxence Lacroix fouls Tim Iroegbunam. He tries to pull out of the tackle from behind, which is unnecessary anyway, but can't and makes enough contact to bring the Everton player down in the area. Penalty. N'Diaye to take #CPFC

Eddie Nketiah is coming on for Palace. We have 21 minutes remaining #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
Honestly think a big part of it is that he is probably knackered

Big save from Dean Henderson after Alcaraz takes an early, powerful shot #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
Huge Palace chance. Pino with an excellent through ball to Sarr but he can’t quite get it right after taking a touch to avoid Pickford. Eventually he shoots but it is blocked and falls kindly to Mateta. He should score but scuffs it wide #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
Mateta unlucky not to double Palace's lead. He bears down on goal and chips Pickford but Jake O'Brien is there to head it more or less off the line #CPFC

Half-time: Everton 0-1 Palace.

A deserved lead for Palace who have played very well and look solid in defence. Could easily be more than a one goal lead, via Daniel Munoz. #CPFC
mattwoosie.bsky.social
He gave it for a handball that I didn't see which makes it more understandable but I still felt Wharton was fouled. He's made some poor decisions that have gone Palace's way as well though

Everton with a huge change to break with Thierno Barry 1vs1 against Marc Guehi. But he takes a very heavy touch and Guehi seizes his opportunity to intercept #CPFC

Brilliant from Palace. Pino escapes his man, plays it to Sarr who has plenty of space in the centre of the pitch to bear down on. He keeps his head to not shoot and find Munoz on the right who finds the angle and scores #CPFC

GOOOOAAL MUNOZ! Palace lead 1-0! Great move. #CPFC
