Cold War Latin America: Military juntas justified coups by claiming they were saving democracy from “subversives,” while they disappeared and murdered dissidents.

This is called Inversion propaganda and it isn’t new it’s from the authoritarian playbook.

Authoritarian movements accuse others of the very abuses they commit:

Since everyone left Twitter the far right have gone into hyperdrive, especially here in Canada. The doom and gloom is the same but the hate and joy they have for that hate is on another level.
