It's a sales tax. A consumption tax. And... consumption taxes are less destructive economically than production (income) taxes.
Both create economic distortion, but production taxes penalize the supply side of the economy while consumption taxes hit demand.

Titles like this do more to discredit the author than whatever they're claiming to expose. Anyone with basic pattern recognition and minimal critical thinking skills reads "Coffee = Weapon for Far Right" and thinks "this person has lost the plot."

Titles like this do more to discredit the author than whatever they're claiming to expose. Anyone with basic pattern recognition and minimal critical thinking skills reads "Coffee = Weapon for Far Right" and thinks "this person has lost the plot."
