Question for fellow fashion people:

Do you have the subscription to Vogue Runway? If so, do you feel like it's worth it? I'm looking to get into fashion writing

Please lmk if you got digital or Print + Digital!

#Day294 of posting everyday this year:

Watching the latest SNL with Sabrina Carpenter and I'm loving it! I'm also telling my hair girlie I want lots and lots of curls because I love that voluminous look
I want to write some articles about my favorite pieces and looks from my favorite designers over this past month of fashion weeks, however I've run into a little roadblock.

I just found out that you now have to pay for Vouge Runway

I'll probably do it but I miss when it used to be free
#Day293 of posting everyday this year:

When my Gators and my Ducks win, it's a great Saturday 😀

I'll be updating you all here when I finally go live, along with any and all other developments along the way.

Stay tuned folks!

By teaching others what I learn, I'll help cement it in my own mind, and by putting those teachings into practice, I'll have created the experiences that really drill it in. Hopefully it helps others learn and grow on their own paths too, which would really be icing on the cake.
Which brings us all the way back to starting a channel. I think it'd be a great way to encourage myself to truly get after this education and creating the experience of making the content to share the story of my journey to achieving my dreams.
But like Nicole Kidman as Joanna Eberhart in the 2004 Remake of The Stepford Wives (one of my all time favs, and one I'd love to do my own remake of) said:

"I can do better!"
I can give myself experience by doing all the things I want to do in my own projects, and I can give myself a great education by reading lots of books that many folks in the industry have found helpful, along with finding some other educational resources (Masterclass, Youtube, etc)
So if I want to be the best writer/director/producer/actor/editor etc etc, that I can possibly be, I'll need two things:

Experience, and Education

I've got the will, I know how to apply the maximum sustainable effort, and I know how to develop a system that will bring me success.
But writing some novels isn't enough for me.

Call me Ariel because I want more.

I wanna be where the actors (and crew) are, wanna see them acting, I wanna be behind those...what do you call 'em? Oh yeah, cameras!
How many people do you know that read screenplays in their spare time?

Probably none.

How many people do you know that read books though?

Almost everyone. They're called bookstores, not script stores for a reason.
Think of the dozens of books that have found their way to the screen, and into the hearts of millions of people around the world.

LoTR, Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, Twilight, The Godfather, Jurassic Park, James Bond, Shawshank, Jaws, Dune, the list goes on.
I know I'll finish the novel, polish it over the course of a few drafts, send out dozens of queries, and eventually get it published by a major company, and launch a series that people truly love and enjoy and find community within.

Which in turn, will help me in film.
I novelized it because it made me feel like I was directing, producing, acting, filming, and writing (literally), my very own infinite budget film with my ideal cast. Call it manifesting if you like but it's made my dream feel more alive and achievable than ever before.

Which is what leads me here
I've shared before that my novel came from a screenplay that I wrote and adapted, which resulted in a radical restructuring and overhaul of the story (+8 months of research and planning). But the reason why I wrote it is the coolest thing, and it wasn't just because I loved my original script.
I'm nearly finished with my first novel, and I have a series planned out, I'm doing well at my job, and I'm in the best shape of my life physically and mentally.

Now it's time to truly get back on the horse.
It took a lot of help from my family and friends, and some very humbling experiences, but I know that I've grown more in the last 2-3 years than I did in the past 5-8.
Now, things have changed.

I'm in a wonderful place in my life where I feel confident, I have structure, I'm tangibly improving and moving forward everyday, I'm happier than ever before, and I feel like I'm almost back on my feet again.
I'd have moments here and there. I'd write a script or two and submit them to Final Draft's Big Break Contest once a year (none of my scripts ever got selected if your wondering).
I got through it of course, but it would be a while before I really got to a place where I felt like I was rested and recovered enough to even seriously think about being creative again, let alone professionally.
Imagine working a shift, then hitting the gym for an hour, then sitting in a 4 HOUR CLASS, 2-3 times a week. Then on my off days from work, I'd be in class from 10am-10pm with a 2 hour window in the middle to exercise. If I wasn't at school, I was at work. Literally no days off!
I went from not having to worry about paying for school, to having to work full time to support myself AND pay for school. Naturally, I was VERY tired when I was sitting in most of those classes.
My dream since I changed my major is to be a Lucas/Gerwig/Nolan level creative force in the industry. However, my direct pursuit of that dream has been largely interrupted by the greatest disrupter of all: life.
