I often wonder why I find so many parts of the #gamedev scene repulsive. Today I thought of a metaphor: If you liken game development to cooking, it feels like gamedevs often forget that we possess the incredible ability to simply invent all the flavors.

It seems that whenever I interacted with a completely unrelated collider on the same object, the engine decided to cull the PS for a moment and it reset completely. My unity version doesn't have a culling setting yet, so the fix is a combination of random settings that should have no bearing but do.
This is so Pokemon... Let's spend a year building these parcours, but spending 2 hours getting the platforming mechanics to feel good? hell no.

Today I lost my chance to participate in @OTKGamesExpo because of a timezome mixup. Pretty brutal, considering I only got rejections from every other event this year. I WILL tell people about my game one day. If only they knew the kind of trailer I had lined up!
Two days into #gamecityvienna watching dozens of players it takes ONE pedantic guy who points out the input delay... I built in a .2 second input delay a long time ago to better sync with animations, but only lately i realized HOW MUCH .2 seconds is in an action game...

I put damage numbers on the player too. For whatever reason, I still observe that it's not clear to some players when they take damage. Also I made a new damage type that doesn't bump you back. #gamedev #indiegame #solodev #mazestalker #screenshotsaturday
