Surface laptops can limit battery charge level via a Windows app ❤️

I've made a setup dr frankenstein would be proud of. From the Laptop 7 USB-C to Surface TB4 docker to 2x USB-C TB4 to DP cable into a multi-DP 8k KVM switch and back into two monitors. And it actually works :o

(so far .. will have to stress test it more)
Turned off my desktop PC and working on the new more silent Surface Laptop 7 ... now I can hear my drink fizz in its glass.

Got the Surface Laptop 7 with Snapdragon Elite X cpu... thusfar it's been awesome. This is by far the snappiest and fastest Windows laptop I've ever touched. Fan came on during some updates and software installs but has been silent even since. Apparantly charging also requires more fan.

Software

My lights run on zigbee and the mesh network is pretty solid. My switches run on little zigbee pucks that shout commands to said network. Now due to poor state of zigbee binding, it needs software to act.

I use controllerx for this but some times it sends commands twice? Just not when debugging.

Migrated two smartphones today.. and I only wanted to pull out my last two hairstrands and curse the entire state of software in 2025, about 25 times. (not a rant about Android but more websites and services in general).. why does every piece of software/website have popups and annoying screens.

EA Partnering with Stability AI is not only an insult to the creative industries but an insult to every single person they've laid off in recent years.

Games are nothing without the people who make them. Disgusting.

Meanwhile, Dutch politicians are pulling each others hairs out over whether the yearly deductible should be 0, 140 or 385 euros.
Look at this, folks. This is for a Bronze plan with a 6k individual/12k family deductible in-network. Think of this when Mike Johnson says the GOP is focused on making healthcare better.
Just receieved this today from Florida Blue. This is for a Bronze plan. Our monthly premiums are going from $333 (2025) to $2300 in 2026.

Burning in new fiber SFP+ modules and fiber .. as one does. The main concern was overpowering the other module with shorter length fiber runs but seems to be okay. Not losing light or packets.

It only took us 3 hours of research to figure what fiber and transceivers we needed to order to connect two switches through three walls and narrow piping haha. Fiber networking can get quite complex if you want do it right or are constrained. Here to hoping it works!

"You find the software you need, it's nicely documented and fits the use case perfectly. Pricing is shown up front, it's 60 dollars and the license is perpetual."
You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel it—pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month
