President Trump told the American people that he wanted to be a dictator on day one. Now in office, he and his administration are making good on that promise with illegal and unconstitutional actions that directly threaten Americans’ economic, personal, and national security.
As the legislative session gets underway in Minnesota today, I join state lawmakers and Minnesotans from across our state in honoring the life and work of Melissa and Mark Hortman.

Melissa made Minnesota a better place for all of us. Her dedicated public service inspires us all.

Some Girl Scouts may continue to sell cookies door-to-door or at cookie booths, though the public can anticipate seeing fewer out and about than usual.

Women belong in the military.

The actions of Secretary Hegseth indicates he thinks otherwise, but our nation's senior enlisted leaders have made very clear that they support women serving in any role in our nation's armed forces.
No evidence women in combat roles lower standards, top enlisted leaders say
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s call for a review of the effectiveness of women in combat roles prompted questions during a Senate Armed Services hearing.

President Trump sent unidentified, untrained federal agents to invade and occupy our state for months. Why? To cause chaos, division, and violence.

In this dark moment of American history, Minnesotans responded with unity.

Now, we begin the work of rebuilding our communities.

Operation Metro Surge is an attack on Minnesota's values of freedom, democracy, and generosity.

No community in America should have to face the carnage and lasting damage inflicted on Minnesota communities by President Trump.

For ten weeks, Minnesota has endured a sustained and coordinated violation of our civil rights. It's time for ICE and Border Patrol to leave our state immediately.
February 12, 2026 at 5:04 PM
The accident in Saint Paul’s Cathedral Hill today shows the danger posed to our neighbors by the ongoing presence of thousands of untrained, unidentified federal agents on our streets.

The Trump administration needs to end Operation Metro Surge and remove federal agents from our communities.

Republicans’ “SAVE” Act is an attempt to rig our elections.

Minnesotans do not trust the Trump administration to take over our elections, review voter rolls, or block voters from registering.

Our democracy depends on all American voices being heard.

President Trump’s reckless tariffs are costing Minnesotans every day. Today, Republicans will vote to prohibit Congress from acting to stop the largest tax increase for Americans in 30 years.

This is outrageous. The honorable career professionals at the Department of Justice and the FBI work for the American people. They take an oath to support and defend the constitution, not to serve the whims of a dictator.
Prosecutors began investigating Renee Good’s killing. Washington told them to stop.
As FBI agents equipped with a signed warrant prepared to document blood spatter and bullet holes in Good’s SUV, they received orders to stop, according to several people with knowledge of the event…

It is extremely disappointing that the Trump Administration is allowing the START Treaty to expire without negotiating a new nuclear arms agreement with Russia and China. Our national security is stronger when major powers work together to reduce nuclear weapons stocks.
