We found that elevated momentary pain was associated with lower momentary emotional granularity/differentiation in individuals with chronic pain. However, when mean emotion was controlled for, this association was robust only for positive emotions.

New paper out on testing potential cognitive foundations of emotional granularity/emotion differentiation. In contrast to what we expected, we found no associations between executive functions and granularity.
