This is an excellent explanation by Nico Rikken from Alliander about why traditional standards are failing in the #opensource world. IEC is just one example as Nico points out. The issues are avoidable, and fixable, but require attention.

What is the #Linux -based client operating system market share? I was reading SJVN's write up on ZDNET and noticed that if you look beyond "desktop" in the US data at analytics.usa.gov, Linux-based operating sytems are actually over 25% of the clients accessing US federal websites.
