Granted Châtelet was part of her title, and apparently Chatelet has already been established on Discovery and SNW, so in my head canon it’s named after Émilie du Châtelet.

Recently finished reading William Leisner’s TNG novel Losing the Peace. Excellent novel with a message about refugee crises. I took a gander at Goodreads reviews, and as I expected, people are stupid. One review starts out, “I hate when Star Trek gets preachy.” Well I guess you hate Star Trek.

Overhearing my colleagues talk about sports ball in the main office. Never will understand why people say “my game is..” at such and such time or “we aren’t doing well this season.” It’s your favorite team, but it’s not your game.

The most bizarre thing is that the student is an international student from India. I know Modi’s Hindu nationalism and Trump’s MAGA nonsense are allied but this is just plain weird. The student is normally a pretty solid student so I’m baffled.

I never knew any of this until my husband got some ducks. They are absolutely horrible. My husband raises them for food, but I have kept one as kind of a pet. I love him but absolutely hate him for being so awful to the other ducks.

Read the IDC comics Star Trek Voyager Homecoming #1 & Star Trek The Last Starship #1. I’m mostly new to comic books. I enjoyed both issues. I read the digital versions which were great because I could zoom in on the frames. With print versions, I always felt overwhelmed when trying read comic books.
