Small correction- it was not JC who skipped the previous Estimates but Tony Connolly (Chair of Academic Board who sits on Council) who has since stated that he (TC) was told not to go by the VC’s office and JC was asked to say that no one from Council was available to attend.

Australian government says officials in Tel Aviv requested early consular access to those detained from Global Sumud Flotilla At least five Australians are reported to be among those detained by the Israeli government on a pro-Palestinian flotilla carrying aid to Gaza. Israel said overnight it had stopped the flotilla, with its navy intercepting all but one of the vessels trying to breach the blockade. Of the Global Sumud flotilla (GSF)’s 42 vessels, 41 were listed as having been confirmed or assumed to have been stopped by Israeli forces. Yes, they’ve not qualified since 1970 and there’s no way they’ll win against Norway even if they get through the rest.
