Farmers grow what they grow because of farm policy.

We don’t need all the soy and corn that we grow, but those are the commodities that receive subsidies and markets.

If we want something better, if we want to heal the Earth and grow food, now is the time to do it.
I wouldn’t be so sure - Trump2 won for a reason. You underestimate how much the average American has been brainwashed to HATE anything even associated with the word “left”
Didnt they just endorse Janet Mills lmfao they are NOT gonna be of any help here
You cant read, they just got BOUGHT by the Trumpies

The most dangerous form of government is theocracy.

Because the only thing worse than a tyrant is a tyrant who thinks they're on a mission from God.
Please don’t buy into this - most of these RIFs were already in the works since the spring due to agency-wide restructuring. Its just a bunch of previously planned RIFs being reframed as shutdown punishment RIFs to scare the Dems

Correct, HHS has been planning RIFs since Feb or March. Not seeing anything from EPA yet but I imagine they’ll pull the same stunt - they’ve been trying to restructure former ORD employees into the other offices for 6 months now and have about 150-200 employees left..guess who will probably be RIFd?

“California, and the country, cannot await the outcome of the midterms to repel Trump’s siege on democracy. More drastic action is required."

Read @clarajeffery.bsky.social on how powerful states can fight back against Trumpism. After all, California has the 4th largest economy in the world.
It’s time for soft secession

Well sure for some but all 16000 employees?
My question is how are they even still open during the shutdown? My wife got an email Tues night saying she was ”exempt” because they’d determined her branch had enough funding to keep working. But it turns out EVERYONE at EPA got that email… where’d the $$ come from?? www.reddit.com/r/fednews/s/...

What? EPA is not shutdown, its business as usual until the carryover funds run out (just ignore the crippling uncertainty). They are still being paid.
