How do I explain to offline people that my favorite Japanese mascot said "we can only be liberated from queer oppression if we are truly seen as human" and then started wielding fireworks like a rocket launcher on the side of a mountain without sounding like I've totally lost it?

*I've applied before, plus a couple times for actual job openings in the department, but no traction.

**Disaster like burned bridges, alienated everyone I knew, very mentally ill, barely passed his class. That makes things feel extra awkward, but I really have cleaned up a lot in the 20yr since.

JOB SEARCH QUESTION: There's a program I'm dying to teach at that has constant openings for the candidate pool*. The now head of the dept was a former teacher back when I was a disaster 18yr old** Would it be weird to reach out about like, how to be considered for any openings?

My attention span is about 45m on average. Thinkpieces have led me to believe that the typical university student attention span isn't long enough, whatever that means. I'm about to attend a math exam prep session scheduled to last 4h and I just don't see how.

Ok see I'm no science doctor but I suspect that you DON'T have to take more but smaller, any medicine can be made small. I can't prove it but it FEELS true.
