I am a Librarian as well as a Fashion Designer, and the vast access to inspiring books, free and given with trust, is one of our society’s best achievements. I still get the odd person who asks “How much is it to join?” and I never get tired of seeing their surprise when I tell them it’s free.

I’m currently working on some new designs for a special event, but because I do absolutely everything myself it takes some time to get from sketch to final product!!

Would I have started my label if I knew the amount of multi-tasking involved? Hmmm!!Anyone have tips on managing multiple workflows?

I love reading short form opinion pieces on fashion - I find they provide a quick way to digest many different perspectives on the topic. I want to create clothes that people will connect with so it helps to understand why people wear what they do. Fashion is psychology, after all.

For my birthday I went to the beautiful museum that is The Johnston Collection in Melbourne 🤎

Please enjoy one full minute of pictures of exquisite items from the current “Inspired by Women” exhibition, which celebrates the creativity and intelligence of women from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Have you ever bought something brand new and thought - this will be an antique one day? I must admit I struggle to imagine what modern objects will make the antiques of the future. I don’t think it will be IKEA.

The eventual trade off for this “modern life” is mass death and extinction. But hold on, does that statement that mean they acknowledge that it’s a real thing?

I absolutely agree that the most effective way to address the problam of fashion waste is to simply not create the garment in the first place! Buying a garment that you know you can mend or alter to keep it useable is definitely a step more people should consider when buying new 🧵🧵🪡

I had been thinking on it for a while and dived in a couple of days ago. I think it will be a slow build - but worth it!

I am somewhat embarrassed to drive mine now. I need to get one of those stickers!

Slow fashion is not just about production speed, it’s about accountability, transparency, and thoughtful design from concept to disposal. Does anyone ever give thought to how they might dispose of a garment when they buy it? Or do you buy with the idea you will own it for many years to come?
