Palestinian people are still dying everyday. They are still being starved. I have no doubt that people will take to the streets and take to the oceans until there is justice, long-lasting peace and liberation for Palestinians.

Shamefully, PM Albanese and Minister Wong remained silent and did nothing to support the humanitarians aboard the flotilla, but surely they should hold Israel to account for illegally abducting, imprisoning and abusing Australian citizens and for the genocide in Gaza.

I am so grateful and thankful to them for stepping up where governments have failed.

The treatment of these Australians at the hands of Israel has shown that Minister Wong’s strategy of trying to appease a genocidal bully doesn’t work.

Hope that in a world where governments like ours choose to do nothing as a livestreamed genocide occurs, that there are people out there willing to risk it all to save lives. It reminds us of the good in this world.

The Australian people are so proud of them. Everyday people willing to put their lives on the line to deliver lifesaving food and medical supplies to Palestinians suffering Israel’s genocide and starvation.

It is disgraceful that the brave Australians aboard these flotillas have been abandoned by their government. Prime Minister Albanese and Foreign Minister Wong need to publicly stand up for their citizens and stand up against Israel breaking international law after international law.

We should have never come to this. Western Governments have utterly failed to stop Israel’s genocide, starvation, and devastation in Gaza, and it has fallen to ordinary citizens to take it upon themselves to attempt to stop Israel’s war crimes and deliver deseprately needed aid to Gaza.

In the last hour, the brave humanitarians aboard the Freedom Flotilla, which includes at least one Australian, Madeleine Habib, have reported being surrounded and intercepted by the Israeli military in international waters.

This is direct contravention of international law.

This change management plan is yet another example of university management blindsiding their staff who will bear the serious impacts. Monash should listen to their staff and stop the plan to close the institute in its tracks.

What is wrong with the Albanese Government? Australians were abducted in international waters, imprisoned, and abused by Israel, and yet the PM and Foreign Minister are missing in action. They have completely abrogated their responsibilities to Australian citizens.
