Shhk… shhk… Listless feet scrape across the forest path in a lumbering, pendulous motion. Arms hang limp by the sides, gently swaying as if they’re only moved by the wind. The sun is yet to set, but the blue-gray air already starts to blur into the tree trunks and the shadows they cast, throwing the world into a muddy mess of false trails and dead ends.
