Had a terrific week of birding in Dublin and London earlier in October before meeting up with my family who came later. The Cliff Walk on the Howth peninsula in Dublin is now one of my all-time favorite hikes! ebird.org/tripreport/4...

While I was taking this picture the couple that lives there now came to the window. The man started screaming at me, the woman just stood there with a tense look on her face, rubbing his back with one hand.

On the lighter side… it was fairly easy to pick up some Florida Keys specialty birds in a road trip this past week, though tent camping there in August may not be for everybody. In keeping with my trend of failed side quests, Crested Caracara eluded me on the ride back… ebird.org/tripreport/4...

Loved this book. Takes place in the UK but also resonated strongly for this American who grew up in the same “GenX ‘Latchkey’” era. Just the right amount of laughs and tears. #blackswangreen

For all of the crazy stuff AI is doing I’m surprised that when Apple is trying to strong-arm me into updating my iPhone they think that as a 53 year old man I give a shit about “7 new emojis!”

I get it. It’s performance art reflecting how most Americans feel like they’ve been getting bathed in sewage since, oh, around January 20. abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics...

Birding trip to Big Bend National Park was astounding, so much wildlife in plain view. Got the requisite Colima Warbler (not pictured) along with 34 other new species. Notable dips included burrowing owl, black-chinned sparrow, painted redstart, and Montezuma quail. ebird.org/tripreport/3...

I admit I was completely unfamiliar with the history of this forest, despite its current popularity in metro Atlanta and north Georgia for birding, kayaking, etc. youtu.be/0zAzuD4qxeU?...
