Maybe so. If it doesn't work then NYC can scrap it. But I'm not sure what the harm is in trying, especially when i don't see a whole lot of ideas coming from moderates about how to help poor people.
We don't need to invoke Soviet privations to see how ridiculous a city-run grocery store is. It's economically illiterate and utterly impractical. And the complexities of the low margin grocery business are not comparable to state-run liquor monopolies in a few states.

It bothers me that democrats are so inept. The answer to trumpism is actually simple in the broadest terms. Trumpism = cruelty and corruption. If dems want to counter that, the answer is staring them in the face: be the party of mercy and compassion.

Teaching is the best. Had a "Deck the Halls" event tonight we're kids decorated doors and hallways, we put art on display, choir sang Christmas songs and the dance team danced their butt's off. Hard to believe I get paid for this.

This is a good article on the insanity gripping our society. I think it's fine to want to have a say in our government. But as @jvl.bsky.social points out, cenk could put his ideas in writing. Dems do listen to populist ideas--hence AOC having input in major legislation.
