Dead mouse 😩. At least it wasn’t messy, and at least I wasn’t asleep

Oh joy! The Great Hunter has left me a gift! A blessed day!

Nooo. I don’t want to put the docker image behind a reverse proxy. Don’t make me

Slowly and begrudgingly becoming one of those homelab people
It *mostly* works now. The camera control is a little flaky on iOS and I’m not sure why. When you open a level is starts off-center and you have to pan and zoom a little to get it to behave reasonably, but after that it seems to work 🤞
If I had a nickel for every time my phone decided not to charge on the wireless charger the night before I travel, I’d have three nickels, which is a statistically unlikely number of nickels compared to the expected baseline
If you aren't in the jam and just want to play, it's on itch here mercurywave.itch.io/criss-cross-.... (Note: it's not really playable on mobile at the moment - you need a mouse until I fix it)

What? I finished a #LDJam game on time and didn't massively over scope? Will wonders never cease? ldjam.com/events/ludum...
There are no D1 women’s programs in the state of Michigan. Minnesota has 6. This was a factor in Minnesota being selected for a team
Why do I always write my best code after 10pm on Sundays
Windows 11 has an emoji picker. This MS keyboard has a button that opens it. Is this picker compatible with MS’s “new” Outlook? No. That has its own custom emoji picker under the right click menu. This worked with outlook before…🤦‍♂️
Continuing to noodle with spaceships. #gamedev
Pathfinding with directionality and turning constraints is maybe a bit complicated. Also, how did it get to be 4am? Starting the new year off right, I guess. #gamedev
Really dislike these new tv ads trying to normalize cr*pto. -- "Don't worry, it's totally normal to send a relative money that way when they call you from a foreign country and need cash suddenly. This is definitely safe. And normal. This happens every day." F. That.
The weird color thing I was seeing was actually Windows turning on an "enhanced" color mode somehow. It does a real nasty job with solid green. I eyeballed the difference here with sRBG mode to show how dramatic this looks. The one on the right is just unpleasant to look at.
Updated Fourpenny Zoo. Some of the buildings were a bit of a player trap because they didn't do anything unless you also had a way to score cards. Giving them an alternative use makes them wordier but avoids the trap and actually opens up some fun new lines of play. mercurywave.itch.io/fourpenny-zoo

I've been out of town and haven't opened my zoo game in a week. I opened it up and suddenly the shade of green I used for all the animal cards seems extremely obnoxious. It's impossible to ignore now - how did this never annoy me until now?
Saw a massive Christmas village display and am once agin trying to think how I can bring this game to life
Low poly or voxel graphics with real 3D rendering would solve a lot of rendering problems, but that requires a virtually complete reset and probably a switch to a new engine.
It's visually pleasing, but it has so many problems. It's at odds with itself between a sim and an idle game. Elevation, 2d pixel art, and lighting all create interweaving problems. I really feel like it needs trains and maybe cars, but the world scale and pixel art make that a serious hurdle.
I got inspired last night and tried to revive an old, abandoned project and see if I could salvage it. I am blown away by how much sheer stuff I crammed into this project. I just kept adding features and polish.
