The Hornblower Books by C.S. Forester were given to me as a child for my birthday and Xmas presents. I really loved them as they were about the Royal Navy and the Napoleonic wars - We always remembered Trafalgar Day at school, I hope schools still do so

When I reviewed Spring Tides, by Dr Fiona Gell, I said it was one of the greatest Manx Books of our time. I still hold that opinion of it, for exactly the same reasons, in that it is both educational & evocative, bringing back childhood memories of the seaside. I do wish more people would read it

This was so funny, Aly gave me the brush to brush Horus went laid on the sofa. Horus took one look at her and walked across the coffee table between us for her to do it 🤣🤣 He is such a character to think if he had not been rejected & put in the MSPCA as a kitten we wouldn't have given him a home

This is a book that I would recommend all to read. It echoes many times in our shared history and even the times we live in now. Books not only open our minds they open our souls to everything, the good, the bad and sometimes the ugly, they give us knowledge of all thing & are to be treasured

Published in 1955 The Chrysalids by John Wyndham is my favourite book. Growing up I felt lost and alone on my own this book gave me hope that there were others like me & one day I could be rescued & live my life just being happy - I never was rescued, I just learnt to accept me as me

I really like PGtips tea, nice and "strong" with two spoons of sugar & drank hot and whenever I go to drink it I keep hearing "Tea the best drink of the day💛" which Dad always used to say and now I completely agree with him - I wonder if it good childhood memories that guide our taste in later life

Our road has been closed now and not surprised as you would not think it was 10:03 as it is so dark out side - glad we are not going out and got those sandbags yesterday evening - Douglas prom is also going to be closed
