Romeo update: he had a recheck today. His healing is going slow, slow. With new X-rays and ultrasound, we are monitoring his swollen cheek and ensuring it does not turn into an abscess. He is able to be weaned off of steroids which is good. We will continue antibiotics and pain management. Send 🩷🩷🩷

It is a big week to think about the fate of 46 million turkeys who lose their lives for a meal. Turkeys are absolutely amazing animals who have wonderful smart personalities that most people never stop to learn about. We love our wonderful 8 turkeys that call MMFS home.

We need some healing vibes sent our away for our big guy Romeo. He suffered an injury over the weekend probably a bite or a kick. We found it right away and cleaned/treated the wound. However a couple hours later we noticed swelling starting around the area 🧵

Handsome Smoke! It's hard to imagine now but when he first came in with his family 8 months ago he was terrified of people and would scramble to hide behind his mom. Now he will walk right up to you and politely ask for scritches. 🥰

This is what it looks like at 5 pm here. We're so grateful for all of our staff and volunteers who do so much hard work and have to do a lot of it in the dark for part of the year! 🌙

Wishlist Wednesday! 🐇 In order to be happy and healthy, rabbits need enrichment in the form of toys, treats, and safe items designed for them to chew on to maintain their dental health. We currently need all of the above! Thank you! 🐰

Sweet Pluto! This lovable gentleman is a survivor of the Premarin (also called PMU) industry. Premarin is a contraction of PREgnant MAre uRINe. Mares are kept continuously pregnant so that pharmaceutical companies can collect the estrogen from their urine for human drugs.
