Katie Sandwina or Brumbach (1884 – 1952) was an Austrian American circus strongwoman.
In 1902 she defeated the famous strongman Eugen Sandow in a weightlifting contest in New York City.
This is a black and white photograph of strongwoman Katie Sandwina, known as "the Lady Hercules." She stands in the center, confidently supporting three men on her arms while dressed in a fitted leotard and tights. The three men are dressed in formal suits, and their expressions reflect amazement or admiration for her strength.

Marion Satterlee (1868-1965) was a US botanical artist who in 1893 illustrated the first field guide to North American wildflowers.
She was a friend of Frances Theodora Parsons, and their walks inspired Parsons to sit down and write her long-meditated first book, How to Know the Wild Flowers (1893).

Ellen Harding Baker (1847-1886) was a US astronomer and teacher, known for her Solar System Quilt, used as a teaching aid in her lectures on astronomy.
She likely began creating the Solar System Quilt in 1876, and it apparently took her until 1883 to complete the project.

Helen Kalvak (1901–1985) was a Inuinnait artist.
One of her prints was selected to represent Inuit Artists work on a Canadian Postage Stamp in 1979.
She was also nationally honored with her induction into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1975 and her appointment to the Order of Canada in 1978.
