On Tuesday evening we played out an enjoyable game with Fleetwood Hesketh.

Well done to Amy for best ever performances with both bat and ball.

We are absolutely delighted that our club chair, Joe Crossley, has been included in the MCC's Community Heroes team for 2025.

Official recognition of Joe's 50+ years of volunteering is richly deserved.

We are very proud of our local hero!

What does this mean?

What will the Premier League's "own inclusion campaign to coincide with LGBTQ+ History Month" look like? What will its focus be? What is expected of clubs? Will they be obliged to participate in the initiative? Will players/clubs be allowed to opt in to support Rainbow Laces?

We need one more team to take part in this event.

Each team will play three short games during the day.

We have a mixed-gender, entry-level, pro-disability softball team... but unfortunately we also have several weeks without fixtures.

Are there any teams in the North-West who would like to play us in a friendly game? We're happy to travel.

We urgently need new players.

If you'd like to play cricket for us, or even just try out the game for the first time, all you need to do is show up for training at Wavertree Cricket Club on a Wednesday at 8pm.

All ages and abilities welcome.

Mersey Rose Recs' club secretary Anna Page won a local volunteering award at a prestigious event in St Helens last night.

We're all very pleased that Anna's (often behind the scenes) efforts have been recognised. Well done Anna!

I would say it was hardly necessary.

Agreed that the situation is not "good for cricket" - but we may disagree on exactly what the problem was/is.
