No worries. Once, traveling north, CBP asked me how my Spanish was. I replied, "Good enough to order dinner, but not good enough to argue with my wife." 🤣 This is probably for the best.

To clear things up, this pat down was to attend the festival because alcohol was involved. They did not want alcohol and weapons in the same small place, which makes sense.

Never. Going south to Mexico or north to the US, I've never been patted down.
