The position is ideal also for folks who just got their MSc (in physics or computer science or chemistry or engineering..) and want to do a first research experience in a dynamic environment, where they will learn a lot of stuff and will have the possibility to be involved in several projects
If you're interested in AI4Science, a research grant is available to work with me and Mattek Briganti (Dep of Chemistry) on a cool interdisciplinary project: AI for the Design of Open-Shell Nanographenes for Quantum Computing Applications.

The word planet comes from the Greek πλανῆται (planētai), meaning "wanderers", used in ancient times to describe the celestial bodies moving against the backdrop of the "fixed stars."
I find it so beautiful :)

Tiny, but significant milestone for #herakoi!

Earlier this year, the SAIt invited me and @micginolfi.bsky.social to present our "motion-sensing sonification experiment" at the VITEII workshop.

And today, we got a short proceeding out on #arxiv:

The dome of the Duomo di Firenze, crafted by the genius of Brunelleschi, as seen from the public Oblate Library—a gem in the heart of a historic convent.

Perfect place to spend my Saturday morning reading a great popular book on exoplanets by Giovanni Covone :)

"Modelling Brain Function" by Daniel J. Amit (from 1989 🤯) is such a great visionary book, filled with pioneering ideas drawn from physics that became the backbone of modern neural nets theory. If he were alive today, he’d probably have shared this year’s Nobel with Hinton & Hopfield.

Elops 500 single speed. Super fun riding it!
Thanks :)
Hi! I’m still figuring out how to use this platform, so I thought I’d share my new beautiful bike with you :)
After riding 10k km with my trusty old ebike, I realized I wasn’t using it as much since moving to Florence. Now a good friend is riding it, and I have this little beauty here instead :)
Agree that it's the best way :)
And less boring than correcting written exams :)
Batteries were invented in 1799 and changed the world but a good theory of electromagnetism came with Maxwell's equations in 1865. The same will happen with recent AI developments, I think. We'll understand things (eg LLMs reasoning), but meanwhile let's not fear the unknown.
