The drawing app I am working on can now be interacted with live. You can send text to the app to be evaluated while it is running so to change the parameters of the brushes. (This is done with an emacs mode that posts JSON to a url where it is parsed into brushes) #creativecoding #genart

This mutator is pretty simple (it just moves the line across the canvas) but really fun to play around with. You can kind of hold onto the lines as you draw and then drop them into place

The main optimizations I added were reducing the number of points that are saved per line (points < 5px apart are deduplicated). Also I batched the drawing of the lines. Originally a separate line was drawn between each point, now they are drawn as one big line.

Added a new mutator to my live drawing tool (mutators are what I call the effects that are applied to the points / lines on the canvas) . It uses sine to modulate the position of each point. I also did some optimization to improve the number of points / lines that can be drawn to the canvas at once

Oh nice I use a vinyl cutter for plots as well, what are you using?

What kind of enamel are you using and what are you using to print with it?

An experiment with my drawing tablet. Extra lines are randomly added to each brush stroke. I want to eventually expand this into a painting program where you can modify the brush code as you paint as well as animate the strokes after they have been made

Its all based off this sequencer that can be programmed using a small forth-based language. Sequences are visualized on the graph and it currently outputs either OSC messages or http requests

Very scrappy introduction to a live coding system I have been working on recently. This is it outputting to a web app I wrote for creating line drawings.
