‘Columnists’ like him are primarily controversialists. They build a reputation and survive by spouting outlandish views, all for attention and reaction. I’m quite sure they don’t believe much of the nonsense they spout, but it pays the mortgage. Heath at the Telegraph is the same.

You have to sympathise with government ministers - of all European countries. There’s a mad man in the White House wreaking havoc on the world, but it’s America! They STILL have to walk this tightrope. I’m not sure it’s fair holding their feet to the fire.

Remember Johnson reneged on the leaders’ interviews with Neil prior to the 2019 election? His team obviously took the view that being accused of cowardice was less damaging than a mauling by a forensic interviewer. Not that Kuenssberg is that, but you get my drift. 😉

For Brits listening, I’ve subscribed to the view that Keir Starmer has had to - for the good of the nation - bite his lip and avoid antagonising Tяump. But sorry, the gloves are now off. He’s made it very clear that appeasement is pointless. It’s time to stand up to this sociopathic narcissist.

It’s a ridiculous and typically cack-handed response. He’s announced tariffs on 6 out of 27 countries of the EU. The EU is a single market and has a customs union. Good luck to the US customs officials trying to work out how to apply tariffs. EG, if France wants to avoid the tariffs..

My country qualified for the World Cup for the first time in nearly 20 years. It’s a big deal for us. But I would fully support a boycott.
